Job Summary
Senior Business Development Representative in BC region is responsible for managing brokerage relationships between Wawanesa and the brokerage network, developing and achieving targeted business goals with contracted brokers, and identifying growth opportunities with new brokerages and territories within the region. The role involves acting as the liaison between Wawanesa and brokers, managing production results, coordinating with Marketing and BD departments, training sessions, underwriting and claim concerns routing, and maintaining knowledge of marketplace, products, and competitors. The position requires 5+ years in sales/business development, post-secondary education in a related field, experience with BC broker networks, Salesforce CRM usage, strong planning and communication skills, and the ability to operate in a hybrid work environment from Vancouver, BC.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or wholesale distribution roles
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- CIP or CRM designation is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience in commercial and farm insurance is an asset
- Experience working within the BC broker network and solid understanding of the local market (Mainland and surrounding areas) is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience using and maintaining account information in CRM tools such as Salesforce is required
- Strong planning and organizing skills involving goal setting and results measurement
- Strong presentation and training skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team player with ability to motivate others
- Insurance Designation considered an asset
- Must have a clean drivers abstract
