Job Summary
Collaborate with business teams to define needs for data-driven decision management by analyzing complex operational and financial datasets. Perform data exploration, statistical inference, and modeling to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, then develop forecasts and recommendations for strategic planning. Create dashboards, visualizations, and reports to monitor performance against KPIs while contributing to data inventory, stewardship, and quality remediation efforts. Communicate findings effectively through presentations that advance organizational intelligence, working closely with the enterprise analytics team to articulate requirements for data models and views. Adhere to enterprise policies regarding data security, privacy, and governance while maintaining high standards for data quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, analytics, mathematics, economics, computer science or related functional area
- 4+ years of demonstrated data analytics experience
- experience querying and analyzing operational and/or financial data
- experience generating insights
- experience communicating those effectively with colleagues and leaders
- Prior experience in successfully executing analytics projects in one or more of the following domains/business functions: Financial Management and Forecasting, Risk Assessment, Insurance Utilization & Pricing, Supply Chain Optimization, Retail Management, eCommerce Management, Consumer Behavior Analysis, Marketing Optimization or Healthcare Management
- Experience building complex data queries using SQL in order to join, filter, cleanse and aggregate data
- understanding of how GUI-driven applications apply SQL concepts to do the same
- Experience creating effective data visualizations/dashboards that intuitively highlight trends and patterns with the ability to monitor business performance against KPIs
- Experience using data exploration and analysis platforms such as Cognos Analytics, Tableau, SAS or similar
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and relational database structures
- Strategic skills, business acumen and curiosity to support envisioning work, program planning and strategic partnerships
- Ability to analyze and document business requirements, inclusive of needs and expectations
- Flexible and able to quickly and effectively change priorities and direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and analytical skills
- Remains current in field, including learning new techniques, approaches and software available
- Expert level skills in Excel
