Job Summary
Senior Business Analyst role within the Cubist Business Management team focusing on onboarding and deploying new systematic equity and macro trading teams, negotiating rate with counterparties, managing vendor relationships, and leading cross-functional strategy rollout projects. Responsibilities include end-to-end project lifecycle management for launching PM teams into production, designing research and trading solutions aligned with firm standards, educating PM teams on operating procedures, providing day-to-day operational support (broker data management, compliance monitoring, trading, business continuity), and coordinating with Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, brokers, exchanges, and vendors. Requires a strong technical background and project management experience, solid understanding of global market structure and electronic trading systems, familiarity with trading rules and regulations, and excellent communication skills to work with internal and external counterparties. Additionally, familiarity with research and market data sources is a strong plus; experience with Python and SQL; knowledge of server/storage hardware is preferred; experience with database design is a plus. The role supports systematic trading across liquid instruments (global equities, futures, FX) and macro instruments (bonds, rates, credit), with preference for candidates having work experience in these areas and digital currency exchanges or liquidity providers as a plus; commitment to high ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in finance, statistics, math, engineering or computer science (strongly desired)
- 5 years of relevant work experience (preferred)
- strong project management skills
- ability to independently manage multiple long-term and short-term projects under tight deadlines
- strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
- experience working in Python and SQL
- familiarity with market data sources and industry standards of server/storage hardware (preferred)
- experience in financial services, especially with systematic trading in equities, futures, FX, and macro instruments (preferred)
