Senior Business Analyst - Exchange Traded Derivatives (12 Month Max Term Contract)

Job Summary
Conduct deep dive gap analysis on As-Is and To-Be states for the ASX24 Replacement Project, mapping process flows and system data to define transitions to the strategic state. Elicit, prioritize, and approve new business requests by generating functional and non-functional requirements in epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria using formal modelling techniques. Liaise with stakeholders, Project Owners, and IT solution providers to resolve dependencies, review test scenarios, and contribute to the overall Test Strategy. Manage daily stand-ups, retros, and backlog grooming sessions while ensuring smooth implementation with Release Management and preparing training artefacts for change management.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with projects covering Interest Rate, Equity and/or Commodity Futures and options
- 5+ years dedicated business analysis experience working on Agile, Lean and Waterfall projects
- Experience working independently on Tier 1 project across the full SDLC from early ideation to execution and embedment in BAU
- Deep understanding of the business analysis fundamentals
- Experience in gathering stakeholder needs and translating these to detailed requirements
- Experience in business process modelling using software such as MS Visio or other enterprise endorsed platforms
- Experience using Atlassian tool suite (JIRA and Confluence)
- Effective communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills
- Can collaborate with stakeholders across seniority levels
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage change within a dynamic environment
- Be comfortable working within a matrix structure
- Experience working with Change Management and influencing user behaviour
- Financial markets background with knowledge gained through industry experience
- Proven ability to provide support for production incidents and end user queries
- Business Analysis Certification, eg. IIBA CBAP
- To be legally authorised to work in Australia on a permanent basis without any restrictions
