Job Summary
Senior Business Analyst in Data Governance responsible for eliciting and defining complex requirements, developing enterprise data artefacts, leading workshops, guiding architects and analysts to align with data governance standards, and delivering data initiatives across the university. Requires postgraduate IT qualifications and deep experience in data governance, information management, and enterprise architecture, with proficiency in data modelling tools and strong stakeholder engagement. Role supports flexible/hybrid options in general, but the specific posting is based at the St Lucia campus in Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Demonstrated significant experience in business analysis, including requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation
- Proven experience in data governance, information management, enterprise architecture, or data services environments
- Strong experience developing business process models and data models using tools such as Avolution, LeanIX, Visio, or Erwin
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information and develop practical solutions
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Strong written communication skills with experience producing high-quality reports and artefacts
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes
- Experience working in regulated environments, knowledge of Queensland data and information regulations
- Familiarity with ArchiMate, and experience in higher education or large ICT environments
