Job Summary
Lead and manage bridge and structural engineering projects from planning through construction, serving as Project Manager and/or Engineer of Record. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams while delivering feasibility studies, condition assessments, design, and construction support services. Review and approve engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents, ensuring compliance with CHBDC, BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit standards, and other applicable codes. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and resource requirements, including preparing construction cost estimates and supporting project budgeting. Support business development activities through client engagement, proposal preparation, and strategic pursuits to foster the growth of the Bridges and Structures practice.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered, or eligible for registration, with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in bridge engineering, structural design, and project management within a consulting environment
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, design, and rehabilitation of concrete and steel bridge structures
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), CSA standards, and transportation agency requirements
- Experience delivering projects for BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit, municipalities, transportation authorities, or other public-sector clients
- Experience with multiple delivery models, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CMAR, and Alliance
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Strong technical expertise in bridge design, structural analysis, construction methods, and rehabilitation strategies
- Demonstrated business development experience, including proposal preparation and client relationship management
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to mentoring staff, quality, safety, and teamwork
