Job Summary
Senior Bridge Engineer role leading design and rehabilitation of DOT bridge and transportation structures. Responsible for developing structural calculations and engineering drawings for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects, conducting alternatives investigations, preparing technical reports, supporting construction with RFIs and shop-drawings reviews, and mentoring junior engineers. Requires a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, PE/SE licensure, 10+ years post-registration bridge experience, and proficiency with multiple bridge design software and Microstation/OpenRoads/CADD; Masters degree and Florida licensure preferred. Must have strong communication, urgency to meet deadlines, and a driving history meeting company standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer
- 10+ years post-registration structural engineering experience
- 15+ years of relevant bridge design and plans production experience
- Experience with bridge design software (FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, FDOT MathCAD)
- Proficiency in Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD and/or CADD
- Ability to model in OpenBridge Modeler (plus)
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Ability to guide junior staff and contribute to multi-discipline bridge projects
- Valid driver's license
