Job Summary
Senior Bridge Engineer, P.E. lead for DOT bridge and transportation projects. Develop structural calculations and engineering drawings for both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build. Conduct engineering investigations, analyze data, evaluate design alternatives, prepare technical reports, and support construction through RFI responses and shop-drawing reviews. Mentor junior engineers and ensure timely delivery of multi-discipline bridge projects, including reinforced concrete and prestressed/post-tensioned systems, with proficiency in Microstation/OpenBridge Modeler and multiple design software suites. Requires BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, licensed PE/SE, and 10+ years post-registration structural experience (15+ years bridge design/plans production is highly desired); Florida licensure or ability to obtain licensure preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer
- 10+ years post-registration structural engineering experience
- 15+ years of relevant bridge design and plans production experience
- Experience with bridge design software including FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, and the FDOT suite of FDOT MathCAD analysis worksheets
- Proficiency in Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD and/or CADD platforms
- Ability to do 3D modeling in OpenBridge Modeler (plus)
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
- Masters (MSE/MSCE) preferred
- PE and/or SE certification in Florida or ability to obtain Florida registration (preferred)
- Experience with post-tensioning applications and straddle bent design (plus)
- Construction experience and ability to mentor junior staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
