Job Summary
Conduct advanced judgment and analysis to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for bridge projects. Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed project phases with engineering disciplines and project management staff while monitoring progress to ensure efficient production. Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff, ensuring projects meet budget and scheduling constraints. This role requires a PE license, four years of experience, and proficiency with LEAP Bridge and AutoCAD. Join the Bridge Team in Columbia, SC, contributing to meaningful infrastructure rehabilitation and new structural solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Advanced proficiency with bridge design and modeling software (LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Specific experience with prestressed girder design
- Specific experience with bridge replacement
- Specific experience with culvert design
- Specific experience with load ratings
- Ability to sign and seal design documents
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures
- Strong knowledge of business practices
- Strong knowledge of engineering laws
- Ability to lead a team
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
