Job Summary
Senior Bridge Design Project Engineer V will contribute as a senior technical resource and advisor for bridge design, participate in interdisciplinary reviews, develop study and design procedures to enable high-quality cost-effective work, and prepare technical specification sections. Responsibilities include producing PS&E packages, developing construction cost estimates and schedules, providing input to engineering budgets, and leading a staff of engineers and CAD personnel. Required credentials include a BA/BS with 8+ years (or equivalent), WA State PE, and strong experience in bridge design, seismic/inelastic analysis, and proficiency in MicroStation, LEAP, PTC MathCAD, CSiBridge and MIDAS Civil. Travel to sites and field work are expected; excellent communication and technical writing skills are essential. Preference given to candidates with an MS in Civil/Structural Engineering and SE license, and with project experience in Washington State. Required Qualifications
- BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- WA State PE
- Master's of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree
- Possess SE license or ability to pass SE exam within one year of employment
- 8+ years of bridge design and plan development experience
- Project experience in Washington State related to state and/or local bridge design project work with seismic and inelastic analysis and design
- Proficiency in software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, PTC MathCAD, CSiBridge and/or MIDAS Civil
- Experience leading a staff of engineers and CAD personnel
- Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing
- Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes
- Ability to do occasional field work (site visits and inspections) and travel
