Senior Bookkeeper

Job Summary
Oversee full-cycle accounting for a Canadian charitable organization, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, fund accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation; ensure donor-designated funds and ministry transactions comply with Canadian charitable requirements; maintain paperless cloud-based records; collaborate with ministry leaders and external partners; ensure governance, accuracy, and confidentiality in financial matters; contribute to financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements in a faith-based ministry environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in intermediate to senior bookkeeping within a fund accounting environment (nonprofit, charity, or ministry experience is an asset)
- Advanced to expert working knowledge of cloud-based accounting software and financial reporting tools (QBO, other)
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and propose solutions
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism, discretion, and accuracy
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Completion of a successful police record check
