Job Summary
Senior Boiler Controls Technician responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing industrial boiler controls, sensors, PLCs; performing start-ups, commissioning, system tuning, and efficiency optimization; planning and installing new boilers, burners, and control systems; conducting planned maintenance and inspections; gathering data, analyzing information, and solving operational problems; using industry tools (combustion analyzers, manometers, electrical meters, circuit testers); completing work orders, service reports, safety logs, and preventive maintenance requests with attention to detail; maintaining records and reports to meet permit and compliance requirements; providing exceptional customer service and communicating effectively with customers and multidisciplinary teams; relocation assistance provided and signing bonus opportunities; travel up to 40% and on-site work in Des Moines, IA.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with industrial electrical and control systems (boiler or burner experience highly preferred)
- Strong electrical and troubleshooting skills across 12 VDC to 480 VAC systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot PLCs, read wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs
- Travel up to 40%
- Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record (no major infractions)
- Ability to work overtime and on-call shifts on a rotating basis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated aptitude and strong desire to continuously learn new technologies and systems
