Job Summary
Develop biometric application software and conduct testing and evaluation to provide unbiased, objective recommendations to customers. Apply software engineering expertise to design patterns, data structures, and object-oriented concepts within biometric systems. Utilize C/C++, C#, Java/J2EE, and scripting languages for development while integrating background in image/video/signal processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning. Work in a dynamic environment managing multiple priorities as a proactive self-starter. Requires overnight travel up to 10% of the time and eligibility for a government security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or Biometrics (Level 2)
- BS and 3 years of related experience
- MS and 1 year of related experience
- PhD (Level 3) in Computer Science or Biometrics
- Background in biometrics
- Background in image/video/signal processing
- Background in pattern recognition
- Background in computer vision
- Background in machine learning
- Background in statistical analysis
- Experience in C/C++
- Experience in C# development
- Experience in Java/J2EE development
- Scripting knowledge (Bash)
- Scripting knowledge (Perl)
- Scripting knowledge (Python)
- Must be a proactive self-starter
- Must have excellent organization skills
- Must have excellent listening skills
- Must work well in a dynamic work environment
- Must handle multiple priorities
- Must show a strong interest in software development applied to biometric systems
- Must have strong knowledge of object-oriented design concepts
- Must have strong knowledge of design patterns
- Must have strong knowledge of data structures
- Must be available for overnight travel up to 10 % of the time
- Must be available for some local travel
- Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- Must be a US citizen
- Must have a security clearance or be eligible for a security clearance
