Job Summary
Senior Biomedical Research and Data Governance analyst leading governance across research design, data sharing, ethics, regulatory compliance, and AI-enabled governance. Responsible for research governance, scientific community governance, data governance, compliance monitoring, and integration of emerging technologies; design and implement governance frameworks, SOPs, and training; manage data sharing agreements and data access controls; ensure adherence to IRB, HIPAA, and related regulatory requirements; may travel for on-site events (Seattle, WA) and support distributed US-wide remote/hybrid arrangements. Note: role emphasizes governance over data engineering or analytics, with a focus on ethical stewardship of human biomedical data and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders; compensation range provided and benefits described.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, public health, public administration, social sciences)
- 7+ years of professional experience in a research setting involving human biomedical data
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with laws, regulations, and best practices related to working with human biomedical research data
- Experience preparing materials and submitting to Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), preferably including multi-site protocols
- Experience with legal language or data sharing agreement review
- Experience developing and/or improving SOPs or other process documentation for day-to-day tasks
- Knowledge of incident investigation processes, root cause analysis, and CAPA plans
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with documentation/task management tools (e.g., Google Suite, MS Suite, Confluence, Jira)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; understand FAIR data sharing principles
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and sustain focus on data-intensive tasks
- Familiarity with AI tools in governance and documentation
