Senior BIM/CAD Technician

Job Summary
Manage infrastructure design drawings and models by preparing, modifying, and coordinating submissions for client and stakeholder reviews. Work closely with CAD/BIM managers and design leads to ensure compliance with policies, notify design inputs, and resolve clashes across multiple utility projects. Develop engineering drawings, layouts, flow sheets, and assemblies from sketches using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks while maintaining QA/QC standards. Produce scheduling and quantity extractions, document design changes, and manage digital archiving of project drawings. Support training initiatives and knowledge sharing within the BIM team to optimize productivity and streamline design processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 10+ years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting and BIM experience in Wet and Dry utilities projects
- 3+ years of Utility Pipe Network Modelling
- Must have software experience in AutoCAD
- Must have software experience in Autodesk Civil 3D
- Must have software experience in Navis Work Advance
- Knowledge of Common Data Environment (CDE) usage and management for model production - Autodesk Forma
- Knowledge of Common Data Environment (CDE) usage and management for model production - Bentley ProjectWise
- Strong knowledge in LOD requirements
- Good knowledge in DEWA / DM / RTA standards and existing utilities management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Desired Qualifications
- MicroStation Software knowledge
- Proficiency in BIM software including Navisworks, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD
- Experience working to international standards such as ISO 19650
- Strong knowledge in Infrastructure Wet & Dry utilities Model and layout preparation
- Experience with clash detection, issue management, and model-based design review
- Support training initiatives and knowledge sharing within the BIM team
- Understanding of ROW related and cross sections / Routing plan preparation
- Capable of identifying issues and finding solutions to challenges during the design and review process
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
