Job Summary
Develop comprehensive engineering packages for utility-scale battery storage projects, including Single-Line Diagrams, electrical layouts, and cable routing maps. Specify and integrate critical equipment such as Power Conversion Systems, battery enclosures, transformers, and switchgear while performing and validating essential electrical calculations and sizing assessments. Lead multidisciplinary coordination to ensure seamless integration of Balance-of-Plant systems and maintain strict adherence to NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and IEC standards. This fully remote senior role requires 8+ years of electrical engineering experience with 3-5 years dedicated to BESS, proficiency in ETAP and SKM, and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of total electrical engineering experience
- At least 3 to 5 years of direct experience dedicated to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Strong hands-on experience performing power system modeling and engineering studies using ETAP and SKM
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Deep, operational understanding of industry codes (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, IEC) and the utility grid interconnection process
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote, cross-functional team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous professional experience working directly with utility-scale BESS integrators
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license
