Job Summary
Senior Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain Node.js/Typescript backends and APIs, scale high-throughput systems, and mentor teammates. You’ll work on backend services using NestJS/Express, write SQL queries for PostgreSQL, and integrate with AWS services (Redis, Kinesis, S3, MongoDB, EventBridge), with an emphasis on high availability and performance for a healthcare-focused platform serving millions of patients. The role involves collaborating with product, QA, UX, and client success, contributing to architecture and refactor efforts, and potentially doing infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and frontend work if desired.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- 5+ years designing and implementing backend services and distributed systems
- Strong grasp of JavaScript/ES fundamentals, TypeScript, or strong experience in another modern OO language
- High level of proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL) database design, including query optimization
- Experienced working with asynchronous requests in large scale applications
- Commitment to testing best practices
