Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Apache Kafka. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support. Collaborate with architects to define API standards and application architecture while writing clean, well-tested code and actively participating in code reviews. Troubleshoot complex issues to drive improvements in performance, scalability, and system health. Create technical documentation and communicate project status to stakeholders within a collaborative Agile environment. This role supports the Launchpad application, which streamlines merchant onboarding for global commerce.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen or valid Green Card Holder
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Validation, Spring Modulith, Apache Kafka, and related technologies
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to define API standards, event-driven integration patterns, application architecture, and development best practices
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
- Actively participate in code reviews
- Troubleshoot complex application issues
- Drive improvements in performance, scalability, reliability, and overall system health
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Contribute to architectural discussions
- Communicate project status, risks, and deliverables to stakeholders
- Demonstrate strong ownership by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
- Drive technical solutions
- Mentor team members
- Deliver results in a collaborative Agile environment
- Must be available for hybrid work in Cincinnati, OH (3 days) or Denver, CO (2 days)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS
