Senior Backend Software Engineer - Core Team:

Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain clean, highly scalable backend code using Python, FastAPI, or Django while integrating AI-driven tools to automate testing and streamline reviews. Evaluate cutting-edge technologies to keep the platform ahead of the curve and analyze system data to eliminate performance bottlenecks. Lead technical projects and drive architectural decisions in an Agile environment, mentoring peers and advising global research teams on out-of-the-box solutions. Requires 6+ years of production experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, and cloud services like AWS or OCI. This role supports Fortinet's mission to safeguard people, devices, and data for over 660,000 customers globally.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years experience as a Backend and Data Engineer on production environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, mentor peers, and drive architectural decisions in an Agile environment
- Experience with relational databases - e.g., PostgreSQL / MySQL
- Experience with Redis and ElasticSearch
- Experience with production real-time & high scalable production systems
- Experience in developing backend services with known frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Celery, or any similar)
- Experience with cloud web services (AWS or OCI)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues and find effective solutions
- Innovative and sharp, ability to work in an Agile, dynamic environment with 'Can do' approach
- Excellent communication skills to work closely with global research teams defining new features based on the research results, and advising for possible out of the box technical solutions, and other teams for best integration
