Senior Backend Engineer (Tech Lead)

Job Summary
Mentor the backend engineering team while building foundational frameworks for NodeJS, Hasura GraphQL, and AWS infrastructure. Collaborate cross-functionally to plan and iterate on new features like auto-moderation and messaging platform transitions. Research and spearhead new services for scale, observability, and monitoring, while debugging production issues across the stack. Ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and performant by improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes. Lead transitions to a federated GraphQL API and automated full-stack test suites. Requires 4+ years of industry experience, NodeJS proficiency, and Terraform expertise.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of industry experience at high-growth startups or companies
- 2+ years of industry experience using NodeJS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with IaC
Desired Qualifications
- Typescript
- Previous experience (as a member or team lead) of a highly efficient team (remote a plus!)
- Passion for GraphQL and the surrounding ecosystem
