Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer (SMTS) for Informatica Master Data Management in Toronto (Hybrid). You will independently design and deliver complex features end-to-end, serve as a subject matter expert, influence architecture and engineering practices, and mentor engineers. You’ll collaborate with product management to define requirements, conduct code and design reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions. Core focus areas include Informatica MDM feature implementation, high availability and performance considerations in distributed systems, and building scalable backend services using Java, Spring, Kubernetes, and a mix of RDBMS/NoSQL databases. The role emphasizes technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration across time zones, and contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team. Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
- 5–9 years of software development experience
- Proven ability to independently design and deliver features of significant complexity
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a subject matter expert and key partner for product management
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience with Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data)
- Kubernetes experience; container orchestration and cloud-native deployment
