Senior Backend Engineer

Senior Backend Engineer at Qwello responsible for designing and implementing backend services (Rust and Python) to support a fleet of charging stations deployed across Europe. You will drive system architecture transformations to meet business needs and scale goals, participate in strategic planning, code reviews, design reviews, and hiring, maintain and improve the backend as part of the team, and collaborate closely with partners to integrate services with theirs. You will take ownership of building and refining services as the business grows, with emphasis on automatic testability, resilience, observability, and security, and mentor junior team members. The role involves working in a startup environment, contributing with skills, experience, and enthusiasm to help advance the company’s electric mobility vision, in a remote-friendly setting with flexible options (home, office, or hybrid) within the EU.
