Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer role focusing on Python and FastAPI to design and implement scalable backend services and APIs, develop and optimize microservices for high-performance distributed systems, enable real-time data processing with event-driven architectures, conduct unit/integration/load testing, deploy containerized applications in cloud environments, work with SQS and other messaging, ensure security and scalability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across global time zones.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong experience with Python and FastAPI
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Microservices architecture expertise
- Experience deploying containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud deployment experience (AWS) including Serverless (Lambda, Step Functions, SQS)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Snowflake, AWS DynamoDB, RDS, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Experience with search/indexing technologies (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr)
- Experience with CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions, Octopus)
- Knowledge of security best practices (authentication, data protection)
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Proficient in logging/monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs
- Ability to work across global time zones
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Nice-to-have: GenAI, RAG-based systems
