Job Summary
Design, build, and own backend components for the Choice Digital platform, focusing on payment orchestration across multiple rails, transaction lifecycle management, fraud detection, and ledgering systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement micro-service architectures and enhance DevOps practices for continuous integration, testing, and scaling. Work directly with Product and Engineering Management to plan priorities and enforce security and quality standards across the infrastructure. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience, mastery of Python, and familiarity with SQL, noSQL, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
- 5+ years of experience in software design and development
- Basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or AWS and containerization/infrastructure-as-code tools (Docker, Terraform)
- Thorough understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Development
- Experience with software testing methodologies and strategies
- Mastery of Python
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Very comfortable with SQL and noSQL databases, such as Postgres and Redis
- Understanding of Git/Source Control best practices
- Ability to adjust priorities to delivery schedules
- Must have a passion for building GREAT software
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in payments, fintech, banking, or financial infrastructure
- familiarity with payment rails such as: ACH, card networks (Visa/Mastercard), mobile wallets, experience integrating with third-party financial services or payment processors
- Experience working with systems that handle sensitive financial or personal data and require strong security practices
- Experience designing and implementing ledgering or financial record systems
