Senior Backend Engineer - .Net

Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer responsible for delivering new functionality and features in our .NET backend, ensuring quality is at the heart of development, continuously improving the codebase, and owning the lifecycle from code to production including deployment and monitoring. You will mentor others, identify blockers, contribute to technical decisions, and collaborate with frontend teams to deliver end-to-end features across services like journeys, payments, and carrier integrations. The role requires strong C#/.NET expertise, experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Spacelift), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and a solid background in microservices, event-driven architectures, observability (New Relic, ELK), and security/authentication (IdentityServer, OpenID Connect, OAuth2). The position is based in London with a hybrid work model (minimum 60% office presence over 12 weeks) and includes a broad benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Experience mentoring less experienced engineers
- Hands on experience with C# .NET
- Experience collaborating with frontend engineers
- Experience with identity and authentication systems
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP also valuable)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Strong observability experience
- Experience with microservices architectures
- Event-driven systems experience
- Distributed systems understanding
- Excellent communication skills
