Job Summary
Backend engineer to build markets automation pipelines, data integrations, and the market lifecycle infrastructure powering Polymarket’s markets at scale. Own design and implementation of pipelines for market creation, parameter configuration, and lifecycle management across thousands of concurrent markets; build reliable resolution infrastructure that integrates external oracles, news feeds, sports APIs, and real-world data sources to settle markets accurately and on time; design event-driven automation using messaging/streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ); reinforce reliability, availability, and scalability across markets systems; collaborate cross-functionally with product, infra, data, and markets operations; contribute to code quality through reviews and architectural decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7+ years of professional backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Python or Go (preferred)
- Distributed systems, data pipelines, and event-driven architecture
- Experience building automation systems or integrations with third-party data sources and APIs
- Comfortable debugging complex systems on Linux
- Production experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP) and containers (optional)
- Experience with real-time market data or prediction market infrastructure is a plus
