Job Summary
Build highly scalable backend systems using Express, Node, and Postgresql to support Atom's growing user base of over 10,000 retail investors. Own projects ranging from new core platform functionality to infrastructure improvements, iterating quickly while maintaining system reliability. Drive large-scope initiatives independently, mentor junior engineers, and adhere to agile development methodologies and best practices. Requires 5+ years of software development experience, distributed systems knowledge, and a passion for setting technical standards. US Citizenship and Green Card only.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- You produce high-quality code and set the technical bar for the team
- You have experience driving projects with large scope independently
- You are passionate about mentoring junior engineers
- Solid understanding of software engineering architecture, software design patterns, and best testing practices
- Solid understanding of Distributed systems
- US Citizenship and Green Card only
Desired Qualifications
- Masters/Ph.D. in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with Distributed systems
- Experience with scaling high throughput services and performance optimization
- Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud services
- Prior knowledge of node.js, react, Postgres, Redis would be nice to have
