Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement the core backend systems powering Fynn, Kikoff's AI credit coach, including the conversational AI layer, personalization engine, and orchestration that connects users to Kikoff's tools. Build LLM-powered workflows and agents, integrate with credit bureau data and financial profiles, and develop production-grade pipelines while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and security in a regulated fintech environment. Own evaluation infrastructure and tooling for testing prompts/model changes, improve observability and reliability, and collaborate with product, data science, and operations to ship features that impact customers' financial wellbeing.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with modern backend frameworks
- Strong systems design skills; you've architected and shipped distributed systems that handle high throughput and maintain data consistency
- Production experience with background job processing systems (Sidekiq, Resque, or similar)
- Solid understanding of database optimization, caching strategies, and performance tuning
- Comfort building in an environment where correctness, latency, and user trust all matter
