Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer for Fireblocks’ FinApps/Access team: design and build robust, scalable backend services handling high-volume on-chain transaction flows across multiple blockchain networks (EVM and non-EVM). Own end-to-end backend components and APIs, lead integrations with DeFi protocols, on-chain data sources, and blockchain nodes; research emerging blockchain technologies to stay at the cutting edge; optimize production systems for performance, reliability, and security; collaborate with product, protocol research, and platform engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions at scale; drive features from inception to delivery. Requires 7+ years of Backend or Full Stack experience, Bachelor’s degree, strong blockchain/Web3 experience across multiple ecosystems (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Solana, TON, Tron, etc.), proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, microservices in production CI/CD, security principles, and familiarity with DeFi protocols and Web3 tooling.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Backend or Full Stack Engineer
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent degree/experience
- Blockchain and Web3 experience required
- Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience designing and operating microservices in production CI/CD environments
- Strong understanding of security principles, cryptography in a blockchain context
- Familiarity with DeFi protocols (AMMs, lending, bridging, on-chain routing) or related
- Experience with Web3 tooling and libraries (ethers.js, viem, web3.js, Solana web3.js)
- Demonstrated experience taking products from inception to delivery at scale
- Full stack experience (React) is a plus
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive technical decisions
