Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer on the Founding team building scalable, distributed backend systems. Own architecture and core platform components, collaborating closely with the CEO and CTO. You will influence technology decisions, architecture, product, culture, and the company as part of an early-stage startup. Must have strong Java/JVM experience, AWS, TypeScript, NodeJS, Kafka, and a track record of delivering reliable, scalable backend services in fintech. The role requires 7+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent, solid coding practices, experience with Agile, and excellent communication skills. Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation, plus a passion for building great products in fintech, is essential. Cacheflow is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of work experience building scalable, distributed backend systems
- Experience with Java and JVM
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience
- Solid coding practices including writing technical specifications, peer code review, and testing (unit, integration, end-to-end)
- Experience with Agile development
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-awareness, positive attitude and empathy
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment automation concepts
- Passionate about building great products and innovating in the fintech space
