Job Summary
Design, build, and own critical backend services powering underwriting, credit scoring, and loan decisioning workflows using high-performance Go. Integrate credit models, rule engines, and third-party data providers into reliable production flows while ensuring pipelines remain accurate, explainable, and resilient under high throughput. Improve system reliability and latency through monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization, and handle production incidents with root-cause analysis. Partner with ML, risk, and product teams to productionize scoring capabilities end to end, defining service contracts and data models used across lending systems. Lead technical design discussions, review architecture trade-offs, and mentor engineers to uphold engineering and compliance standards for secure, governed systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong production experience in Go (Golang)
- Deep understanding of designing and building scalable, reliable microservices and APIs (REST and/or gRPC)
- Experience with distributed systems concepts: concurrency, messaging, idempotency, retries, consistency, and fault tolerance
- Strong proficiency with SQL databases, data modeling, indexing, query performance, and transactional integrity
- Familiarity with Kafka or similar event-driven architectures, caching (e.g. Redis), and containerized deployments
- Experience building or integrating underwriting, credit scoring, loan decisioning, or risk-related systems in fintech or digital lending
- Understanding of credit workflows such as application intake, feature/data aggregation, score orchestration, policy rules, decisioning, and audit trails
- Ability to work with ML-serving systems, model APIs, feature stores, or score pipelines in production
- Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability, and production incident handling
- Strong system design, code quality, and mentorship skills
