Job Summary
Backend Java Developer to support Continental’s Fleet Platform for the Americas. Join the Data and Customer Solution Centre and work with US and EU SCRUM teams of Angular and Java developers, along with a DevOps group, on RESTful API development, Java Spring Boot-based back-end systems, and microservices. Responsibilities include implementing design and development with Java Spring Boot, collaborating with frontend teams, ensuring high-quality test code and test scenarios, providing production support, debugging technical issues, compiling technical documentation in English, and following Scrum/Agile methodologies. Requirements include a university degree in Computer Science, IT or related field and 3+ years of Java experience, with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Eureka; familiarity with CI tools like Git, Jenkins, SonarQube; experience with microservices, JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber; exposure to Angular/JS frameworks, and PostgreSQL; strong communication and problem-solving skills; and willingness to continually develop professionally.
Required Qualifications
- +3 years of experience with Java programming
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Eureka
- Exposure to continuous integration tools such as Git, Jenkins, SonarQube
- Experience with client-server applications and microservice architecture
- Exposure to testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, Cucumber
- Exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, AngularJS, JQuery, Karma testing framework (a plus)
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- English communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to collaborate with SCRUM teams and provide production support
- University Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field
