Job Summary
Architect, implement, and deploy high-performance, multi-tenant services while integrating with third-party systems and optimizing CI/CD pipelines. Perform code reviews, write comprehensive unit and integration tests, and maintain technical documentation for APIs and design decisions. Enforce secure coding standards, participate in Scrum rituals, and mentor junior engineers through end-to-end ownership of delivery. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA to deliver top-notch products, actively contributing to product planning and roadmap discussions.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining server-side applications using Java and/or Kotlin
- Proven experience building and owning material components of large-scale financial systems, payment platforms, banking systems, or other mission-critical applications
- Demonstrated experience designing and operating distributed systems, including understanding of scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization
- Strong experience with data modeling, database architecture, and working with large-scale datasets and high-volume transactional data
- Practical experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies within software development workflows, including improving engineering productivity, code quality, automation, or system capabilities
- Proven ability to take end-to-end ownership of complex engineering initiatives, from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
- Experience designing and developing microservices-based architectures and high-availability, low-latency systems
- Strong proficiency with Java and/or Kotlin, including Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and engineering best practices
- Experience implementing secure software solutions with a strong security-oriented mindset, particularly in environments handling sensitive financial or transactional data
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and modern software delivery practices
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git
- Experience writing comprehensive unit, functional, and integration tests
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, API documentation, and software design specifications
- Previous experience mentoring engineers, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and helping improve engineering practices across a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with Product, QA, Compliance, and other business teams
