Job Summary
Senior Azure DevOps Engineer responsible for designing, automating, and scaling Sonatype's engineering platform on Azure. Lead infrastructure modernization and CI/CD workflows, support Terraform/Bicep/ARM IaC, manage Azure DevOps services (Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, Boards), improve build/deploy processes across microservices, implement robust observability, strengthen platform security, manage containerized environments with Kubernetes/AKS, drive reliability engineering practices, and mentor engineering teams on Azure architecture, deployment automation, release governance, and DevSecOps practices.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of DevOps/platform engineering or site reliability engineering experience
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, security)
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline design
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM
- Proficiency with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)
- Experience with scripting/automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Solid understanding of source control workflows, package management, and release strategies
- Experience implementing observability, logging, alerting, and dashboards
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and secure software delivery practices
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Nice to have: experience with GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus Repository, multi-cloud environments, policy-as-code
- Experience supporting regulated/enterprise-scale environments
