Job Summary
Develop and implement a data science strategy for a U.S. Marine Corps project, leveraging data to improve HR processes such as recruitment, retention, and performance management. Lead the exploration and analysis of large datasets to identify trends, then design, validate, and deploy predictive machine learning models in a production Azure environment. Create actionable insights and compelling visualizations using Power BI to communicate findings to USMC leadership while ensuring all activities comply with DoD regulations and security policies. Mentor a team of data scientists, collaborate with software developers and business analysts, and maintain detailed documentation of processes and results. This role requires an active Secret security clearance and CompTIA Security+ certification, with standard business hours aligned to Eastern Time Zone.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years professional experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
- Active Secret security clearance
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques
- Must have strong expertise in the Azure Cloud environment
- Must have an active CompTIA Security+ certification
- 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling
- Bachelor's degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
- Active Secret security clearance
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Machine Learning, Databricks, Logic Apps, AI Foundry)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, PySpark
- Strong proficiency in Python or similar language and SQL for data preparation, analysis, and modeling
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Hands on experience with Microsoft Dataverse for data storage and management
- Strong experience with data extraction, cleaning, and transformation (ETL) processes
- Experience in data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging
- Strong understanding of database technologies and SQL
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds
- Must be available for occasional travel to client sites or meetings
- Must reside in the continental United States
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible for government contract eligibility
