Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

Job Summary
Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable Azure cloud solutions supporting Tier 0 clinical and enterprise systems while managing governance across multi-cloud environments. Deliver and operate the Azure platform, improving DevOps maturity and Infrastructure as Code patterns through automation with Terraform and Bicep. Own high availability, backup, and disaster recovery for critical systems, acting as the technical escalation point during incidents. Support cloud migrations, platform modernization, and new service delivery while partnering with cybersecurity, data, and application teams. Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards to drive the organization's digital and virtual-care transformation goals.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, particularly Terraform
- Experience with Bicep, ARM templates, Azure DevOps and/or GitHub
- Experience leveraging Platform Engineering patterns and AI-assisted development (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery and operational efficiency
- Experience with AKS, Azure Container Apps, Function Apps or containerised application platforms
- Strong knowledge of backup, disaster recovery and resilience patterns
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to be used with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
