Job Summary
Own the overall technical success and execution of an assigned avionics product throughout production, serving as the subject matter expert for hardware delivery and lifecycle management. Develop expertise in electrical design, architecture, manufacturing processes, and test methodologies to troubleshoot technical issues across production, test, integration, and fielded hardware. Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management to drive execution, meet customer contract commitments, and maintain the highest standards of quality. Complete Acceptance Test Procedures, review results, and certify production hardware while leading first-line technical evaluations of circuit boards and assemblies. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, yield, and cost through engineering and process improvements, ensuring configuration awareness and current technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of engineering experience developing, testing, or supporting electronic hardware
- Experience with avionics, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated electronic systems
- Strong understanding of electrical hardware design and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience supporting products through manufacturing, integration, qualification, or production
- Experience interpreting electrical schematics, drawings, and manufacturing documentation
- Experience with hardware verification, acceptance testing, and production test processes
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive execution across multiple organizations
- Strong project planning, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to balance technical decision-making with schedule and business priorities
- Active U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Desired Qualifications
- Experience owning a product throughout its production lifecycle
- Experience with PCB assemblies, cable/harness assemblies, and electronic manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and production documentation
- Experience reviewing discrepancy reports, non-conformances, and root cause investigations
- Experience working directly with contract manufacturers and external vendors
- Familiarity with configuration management and change control processes
- Experience improving manufacturing yield, reducing cost, or shortening production lead times
- Experience supporting customer technical meetings and program reviews
- Familiarity with environmental, vibration, EMI/EMC, and qualification testing
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning
- Experience in a fast-paced aerospace startup or high-growth manufacturing environment
