Job Summary
Research and review global aviation articles and regulatory documents to identify leads for B2B news coverage. Cultivate relationships with industry sources across airlines, companies, and governments to corroborate stories and break news on fleet orders, mergers, and regulatory updates. Extract relevant information to create unique English articles adhering to the company's style guide while meeting strict deadlines. Maintain confidentiality and collaborate remotely with the editorial team to ensure high-quality content. Travel occasionally to meet the international journalism team.
Required Qualifications
- mother-tongue-level knowledge of English
- full-time aviation journalist
- long-term contractor basis, or as an employee based in Switzerland, Croatia, Serbia, or Thailand
- experience writing in English remotely
- aviation industry knowledge
- general business journalism knowledge
- knowledge of aircraft types
- knowledge of aviation terminology
- knowledge of regulations
- knowledge of legal frameworks
- ability to proactively engage people either via email, telephone or even in person
- disciplined, analytically oriented mindset
- ability to work within the established writing style guide
- ability to work within set timeframes
- ability to cooperate with the editorial team
- strong sense of global geo-political events
- ability to work independently
- ability to coordinate with a team over remote communications tools
- strong passion for and background knowledge of civil aviation
- experience in journalism
- knowledge of the civil and/or business aviation world
- several verifiable unedited pieces, in English, for reference
- C2-level of English language, both oral and written
- Previous newsroom experience
- Ability to properly structure an English news article using in-house guidelines
