Job Summary
Inspect client vehicles to reverse-engineer communication, sensors, and actuators, then design full electrical system architectures and detailed wire harnesses down to component and pin selection. Produce production-ready schematics and BOMs in RapidHarness and KiCad, ensuring CAN communication integrity and safety-critical design for harsh environments like vibration and temperature extremes. Bench-test and stress-test systems before production, then troubleshoot field issues and document root causes. Maintain existing custom PCB libraries and interface boards while collaborating with procurement for timely parts delivery.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (or similar)
- Senior-level experience in related fields such as automotive / heavy machinery / robotics
- A strong PCB design background
- The ability to confidently maintain, update, and troubleshoot boards the team already built
- Proficiency in KiCad for PCB work
- Proficiency in RapidHarness for harness schematics
- Hands-on experience designing wire harnesses at the detail level: components, connectors, pins, wires
- Solid grounding in microcontroller-based designs
- Solid grounding in relays
- Solid grounding in voltage regulation
- Solid grounding in signal conditioning
- Solid grounding in mixed analog/digital I/O
- Solid grounding in CAN
- Experience with CAN communication architecture
- Experience with good design practice
- An eye for signal integrity in electrically noisy environments
- Experience producing manufacturing-ready documentation
- Experience managing BOMs and version history for third-party production
- A genuine willingness to travel to client sites
- A genuine willingness to get hands-on with vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Linux, including command-line tools and basic scripting (e.g. Bash or Python)
- Proficiency in Mandarin
