Job Summary
Diagnose vehicles according to appropriate certifications and perform complex, heavy-duty repairs outlined on Multi-point Inspection and Repair Orders. Explain technical diagnoses to non-mechanical staff and customers, then recommend necessary services while documenting all work in the customer file. Adhere to MAP guidelines, dealership standards, and safety procedures, reporting concerns directly to your supervisor. Work flexible schedules including Saturdays, handling moderate to loud noises and exposure to exhaust fumes and lubricants while standing, bending, and lifting up to 70 pounds daily.
Required Qualifications
- Previous automotive technician / mechanic experience
- ASE certifications in lieu of experience
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics
- Valid Driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including Saturdays
- Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
- Must be able to stand up to eight hours per day in the shop
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently
