Senior Automation Test Engineer with Selenium (Java)

Job Summary
Shape and lead automation strategy by defining scalable practices aligned with overall test goals. Build and maintain Selenium WebDriver scripts and test plans to ensure early defect detection and broad coverage. Optimize frameworks for performance, manage Selenium Grid and parallel execution, and embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate across QA, developers, and product teams to resolve defects and align testing with business objectives. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and generate test metrics to drive continuous quality improvements. Open to manual testing activities for end-to-end validation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Automation Test Engineering
- Proven expertise in Selenium WebDriver and a programming language such as Java
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured
- Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, Agile/Scrum practices, and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, TestRail)
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for diagnosing test failures and enhancing test coverage
- Regular use of AI tools to improve productivity, automate or reduce repetitive work, support decision-making, and deliver higher-quality outcomes
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly by structuring effective prompts, critically validating outputs, understanding limitations, and taking ownership of the final result
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments
- Open to Manual Testing activities in day-to-day work (End-to-end testing)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with performance and accessibility testing tools and methodologies (e.g., JMeter, Locust)
- Familiarity with containerization and cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure)
- Background in BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or CodeceptJS
- Exposure to mobile test automation using frameworks like Appium
- Understanding of testing strategies for scalable, distributed systems
