Senior Automation Technician- 12 Hour Schedule -Day Shift

Job Summary
Troubleshoot and repair equipment related to Electronics and programmable logic controller (PLC) breakdowns, including installation, operational start-up, calibration, and commissioning of Control and Mechanical Systems. Perform hands-on field work on Mixers, Coaters, Packaging Lines, Tablet Press, Fluid Bed Dryers, and Vision Systems while uploading and downloading PLC programs. Maintain documentation, program records, and equipment log books; manage spare parts inventory and ensure proper cataloging. Provide automation and technical support on an ongoing basis, including routine diagnostic checks, problem isolation, and repairs, with on-call availability to ensure service. Improve and monitor automation processes for optimum cost efficiency of production. Fully comprehend and develop P&ID, Engineering Layout, and Engineering documents. Day shift rotation from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Electronics and programmable logic controller (PLC) breakdowns
- Ability to maintain related documentation, program records and related software
- Capability to handle the installation and troubleshooting of Control and Mechanical Systems
- Ability to automate upstream and downstream processing equipment
- Experience with Mixers, Coaters, Pouchers, Cartoners, Packaging Lines, Laboratory Equipment, Facility Systems, Stability Chambers, BMS, Water System Controls, Tablet Press, Fluid Bed Dryers, Granulators, and Vision Systems
- Ability to upload and download PLC programs
- Capability to perform hands-on field installation, operational start-up, calibration, and commissioning activities
- Ability to interface daily with shift leader and technician at shift change
- Capability to maintain cleanliness of all equipment
- Ability to assist shift lead in maintaining quality of finished product through proper machine operation
- Experience maintaining spare parts inventory with a proper cataloging of parts
- Ability to provide a timely notification to shift lead of maintenance issues and downtime
- Capability to review line history and documentation to enhance line efficiencies
- Ability to follow escalation plan to minimize downtime
- Experience maintaining and updating all equipment log books with accurate repair/adjustment information
- Capability to improve and monitor automation processes for optimum cost efficiency of production
- Ability to perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems
- Capability to isolate problems and perform repairs
- Ability to fully comprehend, verify, and develop P&ID, Engineering Layout, Engineering Drawings and Engineering documents
- Capability to provide automation and technical support on an on-going basis
- Ability to troubleshoot functions
- Requirement to be on-call to ensure service
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
