Job Summary

Lead ground-up machine conception and direct mechanical design integrity for custom, high-speed robotic work cell builds from concept to reality. Translate client specifications into innovative automation solutions by partnering with project managers, then supervise in-house detailers and external resources to execute structured design milestones. Architect advanced hydraulic and pneumatic power transmission systems tailored to structural demands while conducting early-stage risk assessments to mitigate safety hazards and mechanical pinch points. Manage high-level technical communications with global clients and facilitate real-time corrective actions on the shop floor to ensure builds remain on schedule and on budget. As part of an elite innovation team, you will collaborate directly with assembly leads to watch complex designs physically fabricated, wired, and debugged.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on success in custom automated equipment engineering
  • ground-up machinery design-build experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
  • 5+ years of direct custom industrial machine design-build experience
  • Advanced SolidWorks proficiency
  • practical expertise specifying hydraulic & pneumatic systems for heavy automation
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder
  • residing within a 45-minute daily commuting radius of the Brown Deer / Greater Milwaukee, WI area
  • 3+ years of proven success in custom automated machinery design
  • custom industrial equipment—not consumer products, small electronics, or medical devices
  • direct proficiency in SolidWorks for complex mechanism layouts and large assemblies
  • Hands-on experience specifying hydraulics/pneumatics
  • a strong understanding of industrial welding (GMAW, GTAW, Laser)
  • multi-axis assembly
  • Capability to manage strict design budgets
  • direct small technical teams
  • maintain project release timelines
  • A solid work history demonstrating multi-year tenure and career dedication with prior employers
  • Residing within a comfortable 45-minute daily drive of the Brown Deer / Greater Milwaukee area
