Job Summary
Senior Automation Engineer responsible for leading design and implementation of industrial automation solutions on greenfield and retrofit projects. Roles include developing Functional Design Specifications and Sequences of Operations, programming and scripting PLC/DCS systems, creating HMI/SCADA graphics, designing electrical and controls schematics, overseeing test protocols and commissioning, managing project budgets and timelines, mentoring junior engineers, and serving as the primary client interface for automation and controls scopes. Requires a BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and 7+ years of relevant experience; travel is expected locally with onsite work in San Jose, CA. Salary range $155k–$195k; immigration sponsorship is not available.
Required Qualifications
- BS or higher in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation and controls
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for specifications and client interactions
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally outside California
