Job Summary
Senior Automation Engineer responsible for the overall test strategy of SmithRx products. Drive automation-first testing, build and maintain regression test suites, continuously improve test frameworks, and serve as the primary quality advocate within the sprint team. Create testing-related documentation (test plans and test cases), find and report bugs, collaborate with Product to inform feature development, provide clear test results to Development and Product teams, and develop security and performance tests. Develop deep product knowledge of SmithRx PBM platform and leverage AI tools (Playwright MCP, Claude, Copilot) to increase efficiency. Maintain quality metrics to communicate product health and ensure fast feedback on defects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in QA and automation testing with a demonstrated track record of team leadership
- Experience with one of the following languages: Python, Typescript, Java, or Javascript
- Experience with writing automated tests for APIs in a scripting or programming language
- Experience with API automation frameworks such as Pytest or REST Assured
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
- Familiarity with Page Object Model for UI automation
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins
