Job Summary
Senior Automation Engineer at ABB in Ahmedabad, India, contributing to machine automation within ABB's Automation division. Plan, monitor, and execute application development tasks including new product development and incremental modifications; provide technical support for testing, installation, commissioning, debugging, and diagnostics activities; translate conceptual designs into detailed engineering documentation through modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations while applying design thinking and best practices; assist in preparing engineering proposals and presentations and maintain effective communication with customers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle; travel for site support and commissioning as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation or related discipline)
- Minimum 3-7 years of application development and support experience
- Well-developed understanding of Industrial Automation systems like PLCs, motors, drives, motion control and robotic systems
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a global environment
- Willing to travel for site support and commissioning as required
