Job Summary
The Senior Inpatient Audit & Billing Compliance Specialist will join the Inpatient Coding Team to train, audit, and review inpatient coding functions, develop quarterly audit schedules, and create in-services focusing on areas of weakness identified in audits. The role requires DRG knowledge, certification in coding, and the ability to train coders while communicating findings to leadership; responsibilities include training inpatient coding trainees, monitoring daily progress, preparing audit materials, and ensuring compliance with evolving coding regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ experience in coding/auditing functions or nursing
- High School diploma plus 9 years’ experience in professional coding/auditing functions or nursing
- Current RN, or CCS, CCS-P or CPC certification
- Understanding of the revenue cycle
- Critical thinking skills
- Independent decision making skills
