Job Summary
Senior AU Accountant for SMSF & Business Services with a 100% work-from-home setup. Responsible for preparing SMSF financial statements and workpapers, SMSF and BAS/tax compliance, preparing financial statements for Australian entities (companies, trusts, partnerships), and supporting tax return preparation. Utilize Xero for bookkeeping, reporting, and reconciliations; leverage Class Super or BGL 360 for SMSF administration. Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and lodgement deadlines; liaise with Australian accountants and internal stakeholders; maintain audit-ready documentation and participate in workflow/job tracking. Requires hands-on SMSF experience, public-practice or outsourced accounting background, proficiency with Xero and SMSF software, and strong attention to detail. Must align with Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT). Preferred CPA or CA and exposure to client advisory support; strong English communication and analytical skills. The role emphasizes year-end processes, awareness of BAS/IAS, and a commitment to accurate financial reporting for SMSFs and Australian entities. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience as an AU Accountant or Business Services Accountant, with strong SMSF exposure
- Experience working in Australian public practice or outsourced accounting firms
- Hands-on experience with SMSF financial statements, workpapers, and tax returns
- Experience using Class Super, BGL 360, or similar SMSF software
- Proficiency in Xero
- Experience with BAS/IAS preparation and Australian compliance workflows
- Experience handling Trusts, Companies, Partnerships, and SMSFs
- Strong understanding of year-end processes and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with ATO Portal and compliance processes
- Excellent English communication (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Willing to work AEST/AEDT hours
