Job Summary

Senior Attorney in the Tax Litigation and Collections Unit of the City of Philadelphia Law Department who litigates agency and state court actions related to real estate taxes and City tax programs. Responsibilities include trying foreclosure cases and real property tax exemption appeals before the Court of Common Pleas, handling related appeals to Commonwealth Court, representing the City in defense matters (including Sheriff’s Office cases), drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, researching and advising on tax legislation, and mentoring junior attorneys. Requires a law degree from an ABA-accredited school and Pennsylvania Bar admission or reciprocity eligibility; position is fully onsite five days a week.

Required Qualifications

  • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar, or eligible for reciprocity to practice in Pennsylvania (Pa.B.A.R. 204)
