Job Summary
Senior Attorney SVP - Lending and Structured Products (Securitization) in Citi’s North America Markets Legal group in New York. Provides legal counsel for structured finance, securitization, and commercial real estate/housing finance to Spread Products; covers Citi Community Capital and related loan origination, underwriting, securitization, and equity investments in affordable housing. Responsibilities include advising on legal and market developments, updating model loan documentation, partnering with businesses on plans, and leading transactional negotiations for securitizations and loan transactions; collaborates with control functions, internal review committees, and industry groups. Requires Juris Doctorate or equivalent, 7+ years in financial services/banking law, bar license in good standing, and strong communication/negotiation and relationship-management abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree
- Bar license in good standing to practice law
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience in financial services/banking or related laws
- Experience with structured finance and securitizations
- Experience with commercial real estate and housing finance
- Knowledge of banking regulations and applicable laws
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to lead transactional negotiations for securitizations and loan transactions
- Ability to advise on legal developments and Citi policies
